January - Sunday
When
we woke up the house and the fields and the garden were all covered in snow - apart
from a new frozen lake that had appeared
a few yards from the bedroom window.
I
had a flight booked for the next day and Mike was crossing to England so we set
out to drive to Paris. Much of the motorway was down to one lane and cars
crawled along. It should have taken 4 or 5 hours but we
were on the road for 9. By the time we
arrived at Paris we were both weary and Mike began having an enraged argument
with the satnav as she started talking us through the outskirts of Paris to the
hotel instead of sticking to the motorway.
