Stormy Saturday

Saturday should have been a quiet day.  Marjorie went into Knysna in the morning and returned with my mobile phone which Jenny had couriered to the vets where Marjorie works.  So that’s alright.

Marjorie and Tanya
We all five, three women and two children, went to the River Deck café near the Goukamma Nature Reserve for lunch.    The café people are kind and charming but the service is very slow.  They even have a sign at the entrance saying that they are pleased to see us and hope we have a nice 2013 and that we should be patient today.   But it was a very comfortable place to be patient in.  And they did bring us drinks fairly quickly.  We were sitting inside above the river and people (just a few) were swimming and hiring canoes below us.

Marjorie and I had two drinks each with our lunch and then both had to go and lie down for a bit when we got back to the house.   At around 6.00ish two things happened almost simultaneously.  There was a pounding storm with huge claps of thunder and pouring rain and the five year old decided to wage war on the house and on his mother, two old women and his younger brother, for no apparent reason.  Perhaps it had to do with the storm but an angry five year old has no brakes and it made a hell of a noise.  So we were all very glad when he went to bed and we could eat omelettes and salad without him.  A Ladies’ supper – for Ladies.
